Frederick T. “Ted” Dykes is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. Following graduation, he was assigned to and graduated from jet pilot training at Craig AFB, Alabama. He flew rescue helicopters in Viet Nam and in Korea.
In civilian life, Ted worked for defense contractors and managed proposals for defense contracts. His proposals won more than $1.5 Billion in government contracts for Litton Industries, Sperry, Computer Sciences Corp, L-3, and Dell.
Ted successfully led the effort to develop and test LORAN navigation systems for US Army helicopters and 110 LORAN position location systems AN/PSN-6 before GPS was standard. He was the Solution Architect for a proposal to the US Army to correct deficiencies in three complex electronic warfare systems resulting in the win of a $155 million contract.
